Richard Gray Jr.
Grassy Creek Lumber / Owner

I began my career in the lumber industry working for Richmond International Forest Products in 1983. My concentration was in the purchasing and sales of southern yellow pine to the treated industry for 23 years. During the last 14 years I have partnered with Wayne Pase who is a 35+ year lumber trader to form Grassy Creek Lumber where we have transitioned from wholesale trading to mill sales for several mills in the south. These mills include Randy Miller Lumber in Wilkesboro,NC, S&L Lumber in Denver, NC, Church and Church Lumber in Wilkesboro, NC, Pollard Lbr Co Appling, GA, Phenix lumber in Phenix City, AL. My specialty for the past 35+ years has been in decking and timber sales to the treated industry.

Outside of Grassy Creek Lumber, I love doing things with my family. I have been married to my wife, Leslie, for 30+ years and have 2 daughters. My oldest, Chelsie is married to Robert Ingersoll and graduated from Christopher Newport University and has given us 2 beautiful granddaughters. My youngest daughter, Jena graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and is married to Matthew Kitchen. I enjoy spending time with my family at Lake Gaston, restoring and showing old cars and serving in my church in various capacities. We also enjoy missionary work supporting our pastors in Nicaragua.
